The Magic of a Player Led Team
Every coach's dream is to get to focus more on the X's and O's than they have to focus on team discipline, getting buy in or motivating players, right? There is nothing more fun than getting to coach a team that is player led, motivated, and disciplined. So, how do you get there?
This course will give you specific steps (and practical tools to go with those steps) to create a team culture of personal and peer-to-peer accountability. Establishing that kind of culture allows you as the coach to focus on how to train the skills and tactics needed to win more games! Sounds fun, right?
Why am I qualified to teach this course?
- I have been coaching since 1997 - coached at the high school level for 7 years before coaching at the DI, NAIA, DIII, and now DII levels
- I have also been an Assistant AD at the college level
- We have won multiple championships and more importantly built programs who consistently competed for championships and have positive team cultures and parent relationships
Why do I care?
- Mom of two college aged students both of whom were high school athletes, and one is a college athlete
- I have seen too many coaches who really care and have great potential get out of coaching, because they had to learn too many things the hard way
- I have coached too many college athletes who are carrying the baggage of previous coaching that could have been better

What They Are Saying
"Much like her coaching style, [Coach Mika] is an expert in understanding and connecting with her players, establishing and fostering good leadership among her teams, and managing with love and fairness in a way where every player can thrive. As coaches, we all understand the powerful impact of team culture, whether it be positive or negative, but the application for the desired team culture can be difficult. Coach Mika has a talent for this and it is a gift that can influence all of our programs. Mika Robinson has a wealth of wisdom that can impact and inspire coaches of any sport, and coaches at any point in their career.” -Laura Kinsel
Example Curriculum
Hi, I'm Coach Mika Robinson
I have been coaching volleyball at the high school and college level for 27 years, and I am passionate about helping coaches develop into successful, transformational coaches. Our profession is difficult, and most of us feel it is more of a calling than a job. Goodness knows that we do not do it for the income. Too often we are left to learn things the hard way, and as a result, many great coaches leave coaching way too soon.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to learn from some great mentors and have invested a tremendous amount of time in learning how to build programs that can compete for championships year after year. It has enabled me to build championship cultures at multiple levels and programs and even see those programs flourish well after I departed partly due to the culture that had been created.
I want to pass on what I have learned to accelerate your success with the hopes of keeping coaches in this profession who care about developing our world's leaders and the people who will make our world better for years to come.
